Julia guides clients through the estate, tax, and charitable planning process and brings a unique skill set to her legal practice. Julia previously worked as a family therapist, which helps her better listen to clients to understand their goals and legal needs.
Julia also has experience both in and out of the courtroom. Prior to starting her own practice, Julia worked for two well-respected law firms in Salem and frequently handled court hearings and trials. This experience provides her with valuable insight into the types of issues that lead people into court. Julia seeks to help clients avoid the costly and contentious litigation process through advance planning and attention to detail. In 2010, Julia received an award for being the Arno Denecke lawyer of the year.
Julia holds a B.A. in psychology from Arizona State University; an M.A. in marital and family therapy from the University of San Diego; a J.D. from Willamette University College of Law; and an LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law. Julia graduated from law school cum laude and served on Willamette Law Review.
Julia currently serves as an elected member of the Oregon State Bar’s Board of Governors. Julia previously served for three years as an elected member of the Oregon State Bar’s House of Delegates. Julia actively participates in numerous other organizations, including the Willamette Valley Estate Planning Council, Oregon Women Lawyers, and the Estate Planning and Tax sections of the Oregon State Bar. Julia has published numerous articles and has presented extensively to attorneys and other professionals.
